Camps will be open L August 2, 2014 from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and August 3, 2014 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pro. In addition, the film "Gettysburg" will be shbwn outdoors, for free, in two parts. Walk the property where Lieutenant Samuel Vance Fulkerson mus- tered some of the 37th Virginians, whom he commanded. See the home "Retirement", which was occupied by invading Union troops late in the war. Visit encampments of rank and file, see firing demonstrations, learn from interpreters, historians, scholars and much more. 2014 is the sesquicentennial of the Federal raid of the Abingdon Muster Grounds property and the buming of the Washington County Courthouse in Abingdon. Discover how Kate Fulkerson's wedding feast was raided and her home "Retirement" was used as Federal head- quarters. General parking is available on the grassy lot at the comer of Colonial Road and Holston Street. Handicapped parking is available at the Keller Interpretive Center. The free trolleys also stop at the Abingdon Muster Grounds.
