All those mem- ories of you throughout these eight years, Just fills us all with so many tears. Sometime it's hard for us to under- stand why you had to leave us and go away, But God knew you were in so much pain that you could no longer stay. It was God's will to take you on home where you will be free of pain And won't have to hurt again. Now you're in Heaven with the angels where you don't have to worry anymore. We will all be missing you we know when Jesus calls us all home, you will meet us at the doors of Heaven, how great that day's going to be to see you and Jesus standing there to welcome us all in. Scott Jessee - Agriculture Replacement Heifers: What to do with the ones that don't make the grade! Replacement heifers that don't breed often end up at the market and are sold at butcher cow prices. We have received several requests to develop a marketing opportunity for culled replace- ment heifers. If you have any large heifers that fit this descrip- tion, we will attempt to group them as a load lot for the August VQA Feeder Cattle Sale. These heavy heifers will need a VQA tag and up-to-date vaccinations. Please call the Extension Office if you have any heifers for this load (276-889-8056). Russell County Cattle- men's Summer Meeting The Rtssell County Cattlemens' As- sociation will have their meeting on Monday, July 29 at 6:30 pm at the Russell County Fair- grounds at Castlewood. Our featured guest for the meeting will be Dr. Brian Campbell - Virginia Tech's Ruminant Live- stock Production Specialist. Along with forage and beef cat- tle management, Dr. Campbell will be discussing his research of determining the efficacy of a genetic marker for identifying beef cattle that are resistant to tall fescue toxicosis. Being able to select animals that are fescue "tolerant" would definitely in- crease the beef production potential of Southwest Virginia. Along with Dr. Campbell's presentation, there will be: a "boomless" pasture sprayer demonstration * Global Positioning Sys- tem (GPS) Guidance System demo for improved fertilizer and herbicide applications Weed ID and herbicide selection tips Dinner will be served at the meeting ($5.00 per person). If you would like to attend, please contact the Extension Office by 9:00 am on Monday, July 29 (276-889-8056). Everyone is invited to attend!
