'The commence- ment exercises began with a processional led by the school faculty. Diplomas were presented to the grad- uates by l~lr. Scotty Fletcher, Acting Superintendent of Russell County Schools, and Principal Mr. Nathan Breeding. Names of the graduates were called by Assistant principal Mrs. Lila Jenkins. Also present for the awarding of diplo- mas were Russell County School Board members, Mr. Charlie L. Valedictorian Trevor Cole Gilbert Trevor Cole Gilbert, the son of Terry and Kim Gilbert, is the Valedictorian of the Castlewood High School Class of 2016. He is the grandson of Emma Mullins and the late Raymond Mullins, Ronnie and Billie Gilbert, and Kay Gilbert. Trevor plans on attend- ing Southwest Virginia Community College in the fall majoring in the pre- engineering program. He plans to pursue a degree in chemical engineering. Honor Student McKinley Isaacs McKinley Brooke Isaacs, the daughter of Allen and Cindy Isaacs, is a Castlewood High School honor graduate for the Class of 2016. Her grand- parents are Junior and Regina Turner and Richard and Marcena Isaacs. McKinley was the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship at Hollins University where she plans to attend in the fall. McKinley plans to double major in Psychology and Sociology. Her career goal is to become a family coun- selor/psychiatrist. Honor Student Alanna Kiser Alanna Faith Kiser, the daughter of Tracy and Angie Kiser, is a Castlewood High School honor graduate for the Class of 2016. Her grand- parents are Pansy Meade and Deborah and Darrell Kiser. Alanna plans to attend Southwest Virginia Community College in the Fall 2016 and pursue a career as a pediatric nurse. Emily plans to attend Southwest Virginia Community College in the fall focusing her studies on elementary education. Her career goal is to become an elementary school teacher and eventually open her own day-care center. Honor Student Jeremiah Statzer Jeremiah Caleb Statzer, the son of Phillip and April Statzer, is a Castlewood High School honor gradu- ate for the Class of 2016. His grandparents are Junior and Rita Keith and Eugene and Thelma Statzer. He has two broth- ers: Jordan and Jonathan. Jeremiah has three sisters: Shawnna, Leigha, and Holly. He plans to attend University of Virginia's College at Wise in the fall majoring in Physical Therapy. Jeremiah's career goal is the become a physical therapist.
