CHS 21st CentUry Reach Program to sponsor summer Dingus Family Reunion will be held Saturday, June 1 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Sabra school Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. MeCOWAN & LEE REUNION The McCowan and Lee Reunion will be held on Saturday, June 29 beginning at 11:00 am at the home of Earl and the late Margaret B. Lee on Brushy Ridge. Summers - The Castlewood High School 2 lit Century Reach Program will sponsor summer school begin- ning Monday, June 17. Specific courses to be offered will be determined following SOL retakes scheduled for June 3 and will include courses in the areas of Math, English, and Social Studies. Students' schedules will also include physical education, technology lab and art. The program will last for twenty days, ending on July 16 with July 4 and July 5 a holiday for all participants. The school day begins at 8:30 and ends at 12:30. To recover credits for a course, students are required to attend nineteen days and are reminded that tardiness and early check outs are factored in to the required one day missed only attendance policy. A number of incentives are planned to recognized students who have missed no more than one day of summer school including a field trip scheduled for the last week of summer school. Letters and applications based on teacher referrals are being mailed t is week. Please encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of this opport- unity to recover course credit, enjoy enrichment activities, and/or prepare and take SOLS June 17. Transp6rtation will be provided to most areas and a snack will be free to all participants. Castlewood High School students and parents are encouraged to contact the school at 276-762-9449 for further details. School graduate Sarah Ball demonstrated how to decorate cakes during a recent After School enrichment workshop. Ball discussed the various career Castlewood Elementary School aduates opportunities associated with cake decorating. The students enjoyed learning Eric L. Summers of about her experiences as a student at the Russell County Career and Technology Castlewood received a Bachelor fifth 6 weeks honor roll school where she first learned the techniques needed to be employed as a cake of Science degree in Applied decorator.
