Dante Rescue Squad receives new ambulance Dante Rescue Squad recently received a much needed ambulance to replace an ambulance that had been in service for over 15 years. The ambu- lance is a 2016 Ford Type 1 ambulance. The ambu- lance was constructed by Osage Industries and dis- tributed by Vest Sales and Service. The total cost of the ambulance was $185,000. This includes the vehicle, lettering and all new equipment and supplies for the vehicle. The ambulance is equipped with four wheel drive, liq- uid springs system for a smoother and safer ride and a power cot to make loading and unloading eas- ier. The ambulance is equipped with several other safety options. This project was totally funded through grants from the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund, the American Electric Power Company Foundation and the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development. The Rescue Squad Assistance Fund Grant is funded by the 4 For Life Program. When a vehicle is titled in the state of Virginia, there is a $4.00 charge made to accumulate money to fund Emergency Medical Services in Virginia. If you titled a vehicle within the last year, you made a con- tribution to fund this ambulance. Dante Rescue Squad is a volunteer organization that provides emergency medical services to parts of Russell, Dickenson and Wise County. All services are provide free of charge and no member receives any pay for the duties that they perform. The squad operates on funds from county allotments, dona- tions, grants and fund rais- ing activities. The grants are written by squad mem- bers. Dante Rescue Squad invites the public to stop by and see the new .ambu- lance. ATTEND CHURCH THIS 'SUNDAY TRI-COUNTY TIRE SERVICE INC. St. Paul, Va.
