Tutor, Brenda Thompson. : Student. coordinators of. the .wedding were Camron Penley and Ethan Rose. The bride was Reann Ramsey, and the: groom was Tanner Perry. The beautiful bride wore a gorgeous white organza dress overlaid with miniature lavender flowers. Bridesmaids, adorned in pink and white, were Addie Stallard, E.lizabeth Harem, Alexis Carter, Sky Turner and Kendra Jessee. Sunior bridesmaids were Jessalee Evans and Kassidy Stapleton. The maid of honor was Madison [ryan and the flowers girls were ngel Trent and RonnaLeigh arnette. The flower girls wore White dresses with pink and hite bows; Groomsmen were Conner Gross, Jeremiah Bush, "ustin Evans, Jonathan Minton , . . . and Austin KJser. The best man as Nathan Fields and the ring Iarer was Jessee Jacques. : The bride's mother was played by Alyssa Carico and the bride's father was portrayed by Matthew Stevens. The groom's mother was played by Taylor Perry and the groom's father was portrayed by Haydon Henry. The bride's grandmothers were De- laney Hale and Brilcy Phillips. The bride's great-grartdparents were Cheyenne Roberts and lracken Oliver. The groom's ndmothers were Trinity Fel- Baker and Kennedy Kilgore. The groom's great grandparents and Dylan Ingle. Principal Jody Evans performed thb ceremony. The Title I third grade stu- dents performed a music selec- tion with bells led by out- standing music teacher, Melissa Galliher. Other music selections included Air on a G St/dng, Let Them Be Little, and Have 1 Told You Lately. The bride was es- corted to the altar by her father, played by Matthew Stevens. The music was Canon in D by Pachelbel. Vicki Helbert and Angle Ramsey decorated the high school auditorium and were the photographers. Brad Francis and Paula Pope, Wise County Scho- Melissa Galliher, music teacher at SPES, leads third grade students in the bell choir at the beginning of the wedding ceremony ols' videographers, recorded the event. The SPES cafeteria staff decorated the cafeteria for the reception. Family members of Briley Phillips, Delaney Hale and Jonathan Minton helped clean up. The wedding party and their families enjoyed a wedding reception in the SPES cafeteria. The bride, Reann Ramsey, will be a kindergarten graduate, and the groom, Tanner Perry, will be a first grade student. The bride and groom, formerly known as Miss Q and Mr. U, will now be called Mr. and Mrs. Qu/kw/. They will make qu/kw sounds since being united in marriage. Russell County Library sponsoring essay contest Each year, March is design- ated as National Women's His- tory' Month to ensure that the history' of American women will be recognized and celebrated in schools, workplaces, and com- munities throughout the country. The 2013 National Women's History' Month theme, Women Inspiring Innovation through Imagination, recognizes Ameri- can women's outstanding contri- butions to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics commonly referred to as STEM. To celebrate women's histors, month and to honor Russell Cou- nty women, the /Russell County Public Library is again spon- soring an essay contest. Writers are invited to submit an essay on a Russell County woman who they feel should be honored by inclusion in the Russell County Women's Hall of Fame. Deadline for submitting essays is 5 pm, March 20, 2013. A reception to recognize all honorees and writ- ers will be held Thursday, March 28, 4 pm, at the Lebanon Library. The Russell County Public Library established the Women's Hall of Fame and began the essay contest to record Russell County history. The Halt of Fame is com- prised of Russell County women that have distinguished them- selves through their life and work. The names of the women are inscribed in a handmade book that may be viewed at the Library in Lebanon. Adult Education Connection by Karen Gent Southwest Regional Adult Education, in partnership with Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) and the Southwest Virginia Workforce Investment Board, is offering a Pluggedln VA Phlebotomy Technician program that will begin on April 8, 201Y You are eligible to apply if you are 18 years of age or older, an adult with or without a high school diploma, or an adult with a GED credential. Pluggedln VA is a six- month, project-based program that seeks to provide motivated adult learners with a context- ualized curriculum integrated with technical training as a means to develop essential workplace skills. Participants earn collgge credits, a GED credential (if needed), a Career Readiness Certificate, a Micro- soft Digital Literacy Certificate, and certificates specific to the targeted technical training. Classes for the Phlebotomy Technician program will be held April 2013 through Sept- ember 2013. If you are thinking about attending college, but need some preparation, Plug- gedln VA is the perfect place to start. Participants can earn up to twenty-four college credits in this six-month program. Tuition will be paid by participating partners. Pluggedln VA Phlebotomy Wise County Primary and elementary schools in Wise County with kindergarten classes are now taking applications for the 2013- 2014 Pre-K Program each school day. Parents should apply at the nearest school during the ap- plication period which runs through the end of the current school year. Students must be four years old on or before Sept- ember 30, 2013, to be eligible for the program. Parents should bring the child's birth certificate or other proof of birth date and social security card with them to the school. Students are required to .be potty trained. Children of the Wise County School Division's employees are NOT given special consideration of Technician will meet on Mon- day, Tuesday and Thursday evenings each week from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm on the main campus of SWCC.
