J)ONATION...The Auxiliary of Mountain View -':Regional Medical Center in Norton recently presented Mountain Empire Older Citizens, Inc., with a check in ,ilthe amount of $3,000 for the Home Delivered Meals ,,Program. Pictured (from left) is Debbie Sanders, -Director of MEOC Nutrition Program Services, -"reeeiving the check from Joyce Lackey, Secretary of i i the Auxiliary and Chair of the "Love Light" Tree. ::Donation to Home Delivered :-Meals Program For nineteen years the Auxiliary has been choosing a local program to receive the proceeds of their "Love Light" Tree. For the past several years they have chosen the Home , Delivered Meals Program of , .MEOC to be the recipient of this . girl. They kick off this fundraiser in December with a dedication zeremony for the tree, which is decorated with white and blue lights. The white lights represent "in memory" of an individual and the blue lights represent "in honor" of an individual to be recognized. MEOC greatly ap- preciates the Mountain View Regional Medical Center Aux- iliary for their generous donations to the MEOC Home Delivered Meals Program. Wise County Sheriff' s Report The Wise County Sheriff's Office reports the following activities for the period of 1/28/2013 through 2/03/2013. Wise Central Dispatch received a total of 1,381 calls for this seven- day period. Of the total calls received 275 were dispatched to the Sheriff's Office. Total number of Domestic calls for fhis period was 4. Criminal Process for the same period served 23 Felony Warrants, 29 Misde- meanor Warrants, 0 DUI Arrest and worked 1 Traffic Accident. Civil process for this period served 387 Civil Papers. During this seven-day period 0 additional Criminal Investi- gations were initiated and 19 were cleared by arrest. The heriff's Office provided 200 man-hours of Court Room Security for the three courts and lhe courthouse ................ The Sheriff's Office tran- sported 3 adult in state, '1 adult out of state, I mental patient, and i juveniles for a total of 6 lransports, involving 82 hours. The Sheriff's Office unlocked WINNERS...Four students from The Learning Center, Castlewood, were winners in the VFW Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy essay contests. Sixth- eighth grade students competed with local schools in the Patriot's Pen and 9 th grade competed with other 9-12 grade students in the Voice of Democracy.
